Conduct a research on the Philippines’ commercial ISP. Determine which ISP performs best, and which performs least.

There are a lot if ISP in the Philippines and according to the research I have made, Sky Internet is the fastest but it is also a lot expensive compared to other ISP. Smart and PLDT has been tagged as the least best since respondents say that whenever PLDT is down, Smart is down as well since they are only one. I guess, the basis for the best and least would still be coming from the user and not some random ranking. The difference would still be made from the location of the area and due to some instances beyond control of man.

Do you need to type HTTP on the address bar or proceed with WWW instead? Yes or No, Prove your answer. 

It is unnecessary to type HTTP on the address bar. Since, every now and then current versions of web browser update and do not require the entry of http on the address bar. But, then whether or not the website will require a www is not dependent on the browser but on the domain name system of that specific website. As technology gets smarter every time, some web browsers have already defaulted the dot com and automatically suffixed it.

How can you avoid errors on data?

In order to keep data as reliable and accurate as possible it is important that a person who encodes the data or information is focused on the task he is doing. Since, the data that was encoded by that person will be the basis of other decisions and many other matters it is important that mistakes are avoided. In this way, one of the factors of making an information less reliable will be reduced. Another important reminder to protect data from errors would be proper protection from threats like viruses and many other. Installing and uprating an anti-virus software could reduce the instances of data errors caused by viruses and time to time all system scan can also help because it can keep us informed about the status of  our system and files.

How can we avoid the threats to our data?

We can avoid threats to our data by doing a lot of possible means. First and foremost, it is important that we install an antivirus software or an internet security software to make sure our computers are protected. It is also important that we update the software so that we are continuously protected all through out. We can also avoid threats to data by allowing an all systemic anti-virus scan at least once a week. Threats can also be avoided by making sure to download from trustworthy sites. Last but not the least, make sure that you don’t hand important information like passwords and etcetera to some random people, even to friends and to relatives.

Why does storage media important?

Storage media is important because it provides the people an efficient and flexible way of storing their data allowing easy access. It is also a non-volatile storage device that may be use without actually using main power. With the use of different storage media, an individual may be able to share data with others faster and with less hassle. The surge of these devices allowed people to live life lighter and with the different types of storage devices, a client will also have a wide range of choices that may be most comfortable for his lifestyle.

What is the importance of knowing the difference between data and information? 

Being able to differentiate between data and information can help an individual in his every day life. Data is raw and it is insignificant by itself while information is a higher level of knowledge and it holds importance alone. We are able to analyze through the information that we have and we use observation and query to obtain data. Data is always true and information can be true or false. With these knowledge, an individual will be able to process the different contents he have at hand and it can help with the verification and validation of files.

What is the significance of having computers in a network connected to each other?

Having computers in a network connected to each other means that you will be able to conserve resources. Since data processing will be distributed to many computers it can prevent the system from overloading. With the computers connected to a network, there will be a centralized administration and the people in an institution will not be handling their documents individually since there will be a center and the main administrator. Making back up files will be a lot easier too, since all data are only filed in one location only. Networks provide different collaboration tools especially on managing communication. E-mails, chats and voice messages will be improved. And the last but not the least, having computers connected in a network reduce the peripherals needed. It means not all the computers must be directly connected to a printer or a scanner or a back up device. There will just be a central location which is shared by all the computers wherein one could send the file to be printed out and it can be queued up.

If you are to invent a gadget what would it be? Why?

If I were to invent a gadget, it would be like a microchip wherein it can be implanted in the brain which can act like a memory card so that the different brain activities like dreams and many others would be recorded and can be played back in a special player just designed for it. So, I guess I would also be inventing that device where in the microchip would be played. My reason for the creation of this gadget was to be able to see and be enlightened of how amazing our brain is. Through this device, we could see our dreams which can be of a great affect to our life since, some of our dreams are messages for the future. I guess, with the invention of this gadget, studies on dreams and brain activities would be a lot more interesting. With this microchip, it is also possible to play back not only the subconscious thoughts but also those fond memories we wanted to repeat forever. We can also be able to get rid of those memories that haunted our life if we process the chip and format the contents.

How can Nursing Informatics improve the role of the nurse in handling health care data?

Nursing informatics can improve the role of the nurse in handling health care data by being able to asses information and knowledge needs by patient and other health care professionals. It can allow the nurse to characterize and evaluate health care processes and medical records to all patients. Nursing informatics can also influence the nurses to develop and implement heightened decision support systems. With nursing informatics, nurses will be able to improve and promote clinical information system to patient and to other health care practitioners.

How can IT improve the quality of care?

Information technology can improve the quality of care by making health care delivery more immediate and efficient. Doctors may be able to study the case of the patient clearly since the information are collected and are placed only in one place. It also allows faster exchange of data from one medical practitioner to another since the medical records are compiled into a computer and can be processed into a word document or an email. Information technology also allows effective decision making for every case of a patient. Skill competency can also be improved since health care providers have more time on their hand to practice their nursing skills. Nurses’ attitude towards work may also be influenced because of IT since it can lighten the load they’re carrying. Adoption of IT in nursing does not only involve patient and nurse relationship and improved quality care but also a new point of view on interaction of technical skills and social acceptance.
